On the island of Gorai, close to the beach and the Global Vipassana Pagoda
of Mumbai, is a single-family home. Despite not being designed as a weekend residence, it exudes the essence of one: it is serene, open, and intimately linked to its environment. The house strikes a mix between intentional permanence and seaside relaxation, designed for daily life in a retreat-like environment. The distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces is blurred by natural materials, breezeways, and shaded verandas, all of which capture the leisurely pace of island life.
