The studio extension of the Parekh Residence has been envisioned as a guest wing that harmoniously blends comfort with sustainability. Designed with passive strategies, it maintains a pleasant indoor environment while reducing energy use, with its modular grid creating a dynamic interplay of solids and voids that filter daylight and naturally modulate temperature. The extension reflects regional expression through locally inspired materials and form, employs natural cooling and ventilation, and maximizes daylight to minimize artificial energy consumption. In doing so, it establishes a sensitive dialogue with the existing residence, the surrounding garden, and the open sky, offering guests a serene and sustainable living experience.
